ORDINANCE NO. 1680
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A R-4 SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO THE
METHODIST MEDICAL CENTER OF ILLINOIS FOR PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 2076 NORTH MAIN STREET, CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the Methodist Medical Center of Illinois has petitioned for
the issuance of a Special Use Permit under the zoning configuration of R-4 for the
property described in Exhibit A hereto; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing on said request was held on November 13,
2000, before the City of Canton Planning and Zoning Commission which
Commission recommended to the City Council that the property be annexed and
rezoned to R-4 and issuance of a Special Use Permit pursuant to Section 2,
Chapter 9, Title 10 of the Canton Municipal Code; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has now annexed and rezoned the
property as requested; and,
WHEREAS, testimony adduced at the Public Hearing established that
The Methodist Medical Center of Illinois intends to operate as is with two (2)
family practice physicians with adequate parking for all intended users.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing recitals to be fact.
2. That the following described property be granted a Special Use Permit for
operation as a medical clinic by said Methodist Medical Center:
Tract Six (6) in the platted subdivision of the North Half of the Northeast
Quarter (NE '/4) of Section Fifteen (15), Township Seven (7) North, Range
Four (4) East of the Fourth Principal Meridian, excepting therefrom the
following described tract of land: Beginning at a point 91 feet East of the
Southwest corner of the North half of the Northeast Quarter of said
Section 15; thence West 91 feet to said Southwest corner; thence North
85.6 feet to an iron pin; thence North 87 59' East 657.95 feet on a line
running through the outlet and inlet of pond to a point on the West Right-
of-Way of Illinois Route 78; thence South along said right-of--way 110.00
feet more or less to an iron pin; thence West 150 feet to an iron pin; thence
continuing West 400 feet to the point of beginning. Also excepting all
parts of said real estate dedicated or used for public highways, situated in
the County of Fulton and State of Illinois.

PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois, at a regular meeting this 5~ day of December , 2000, upon a roll
call vote as follows:
