Administrator Jim Snider, City Treasurer Nicole Marter and City Clerk Diana Pavley.
Old Business
*The city provider for the internet is Comcast. An email from Nicole Marter was received
on her correspondence with Comcast. (see attached)
*Barb wrote a letter to local and area funeral homes concerning a new service fees
contract, which is in compliance with the COA (Cemetery Oversight Act). She sent a
letter of instruction and new service fee contract.
New Business
*The Greenwood Cemetery Financial Statement prepared by Hocker & Fitzjarrald, P.C.
was distributed. The balance as of August 31, 2012 was $72,474.61.
*Roy distributed his monthly report for August 2012.
-There were three burials.
-There were two burials of ashes.
-There were five graves sold.
-A new belt for the John Deere mower was purchased.
-A new rope was put on the flagpole.
-A bid was received for repairing the fence at Main and Linn from Capes' for
$520.00. Another was received from Jarvis Welding to replace the railings for
$1,250.00.
"The board had a special meeting with the city on August 10, 2012 to discuss cemetery
business and personnel. Barb will email the city clerk, Diana Pavley, to ask for a copy of
those minutes.
*Nicole Marter sent an email that she needs more information for the 2010 burials. Roy
stated that he had given her this information, but will check with her again. (see
attached)
*Chrissie Peterson, city attorney, sent an email clarifying what does and does not need
to be submitted for the COA (Cemetery Oversight Act). (see attached)
*A letter was received from Froehling, Weber and Schell, LLP inquiring about how many
ashes can be placed in Lot 270, Grave #1. We can't verify how many ashes were
allowed in 1994. Alice Stevenor only purchased one grave, so according to your request
Lot 270, Grave #1 can contain a total of two ashes. Alice Stevenor did not purchase Lot
270, Grave #2 because there were remains already in Lot 270, Grave #2 as of 1963.
Paperwork will be mailed to Froehling, Weber and Schell, LLP to clear up the
misunderstanding about how many graves were purchased in 1994.
*Someone ran into the fence at the Main and Linn Street intersection in June. We finally
received the report from the police department.
*The next Board Meeting will be held October 4, 2012 at the cemetery office at 7:30 AM.
With no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:45 AM.
Respectfully submitted, READ, CORRECTED AND APPROVED
