An Ordinance Amending the budget for fiscal year May 1,2025—April 30,2026
WHEREAS,on April 29,2025,the City of Canton (the"City")adopted an Ordinance adopting the
budget for purposes of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, in lieu of an appropriation ordinance,
for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2025 and ending April, 30, 2026 (Ordinance No. 4465) (hereinafter
the "Annual Budget")
WHEREAS, pursuant to Illinois law and Ordinance 4465,the Annual Budget may be amended
and added to by two-thirds of the members of the corporate authorities then holding office.
WHEREAS,the corporate authorities believe it to be in the best interests of the City to amend
the Annual Budget and add funds,which are currently available,to the budget for the operating
expenditures of the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund.
NOW,THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, the
following:
1. The budget line item shown in Section 2 hereof are hereby amended by deleting the amount
established by Ordinance No.4465 and replacing said amounts with the amended amounts
set forth in Section 2.
2. Hotel/Motel Tax Fund—Miscellaneous Expenses
Fund/Line Item Number: 010-00-57910
Ordinance No.4465 Amount: $65,000
Amended Amount: $115,000
Net Change of Expense: $50,000
3. Except for the amendments contained in Section 2 hereof,Ordinance No.4465 shall remain
unchanged and in full force and effect.
4. The fund balance to be affected by the above change is the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund,which
will be decreased by$50,000.00 expense.
5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City
Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois.
