Subject: Cancelation of Scheduled City Council Meeting
Dear Residents and Community Members,
This is to inform yo�that the City Council meeting scheduled for 03-17-2026 at 6:34 pm at
the Historic Depot—Donald E. Edwards Way,50 North 4th Avenue, Canton,Illinois
61520 has been canceled due to the newly-enacted Illinois Public Act 104-0438. This law
went into effect January 1,2026 which prohibits local government units from holding or
scheduling official meetings on any election day(primary, general, consolidated primary,
or consolidated elections).
The ne�r Regular City Council Special meeting will take place on 03-25-2026 at 6:00 pm at
Historic Depot—Donald E. Edwards Way,50 North 4th Avenue, Canton,Illinois 61520
