ORDINANCE NO. 1652
AN ORDINANCE REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY RONALD
J. WEBER and MICHAEL E. EVANS, FROM AN R-4 ZONING
CONFIGURATION TO A B-1 ZONING CONFIGURATION.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is
located within the corporate limits of said City of Canton; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that the territory
hereinafter described is owned by RONALD J. WEBER and MICHAEL E.
EVANS; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a Petition for
Rezoning has been filed by the petitioners, RONALD J. WEBER and
MICHAEL E. EVANS, requesting that the property hereinafter
described be rezoned from an R-4 zoning configuration to a B-1
zoning configuration; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a public
hearing was conducted by the Planning & Zoning Commission of the
City of Canton, Illinois, in accordance with the laws of this
State and the ordinances of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois, on February 14, 2000, and said Planning & Zoning
Commission unanimously recommended that the property hereinafter
described be rezoned from an R-4 zoning configuration to a B-1
zoning configuration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the
City of Canton, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows:
• A part of Lot 29 in Jones First Addition to
the City of Canton, beginning at the
Southwest corner of Lot 29, thence North 86
feet, thence East 133 feet, thence South 86
feet, thence West 133 feet to the point of
beginning, situated in the City of Canton,
County of Fulton and State of Illinois;
being owned by RONALD J. WEBER and MICHAEL E. EVANS, be and the
same is hereby rezoned from an R-4 zoning configuration to a B-1
zoning configuration, in accordance with the applicable rules,
laws and regulations of the Illinois Municipal Code.
Section 2. That the City Zoning Administrator is hereby
instructed and ordered to make the necessary adjustments to the
zoning map of the City of Canton, Illinois, to reflect the
rezoning hereunder.
Section 3. That this Ordinance was passed and became in full
force and effect immediately upon its passage by a majority vote
of the aldermen holding office in the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Canton, Illinois, this ~~ day of March, 2000, upon a
roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen May, Shores, Meade, Nidiffer, Phillips, Sarff, Hart-
ford, Molleck,
NAYS: None.
