AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1-8-7 OF THE CANTON CITY CODE
APPOINTIVE POSITION OF BUDGET ADMINISTRATOR
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is necessary, desirable and in the best
interest of the City of Canton to create an appointive position of budget administrator to
be filled by the Mayor with concurrence of the City Council.
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
1. Section 1-8-7 is hereby amended to add the position of budget
administrator to Section A thereof.
2. The duties of budge administrator shall be set forth in a job description
which will be promulgated for the position.
3. The position shall bepart-time.
4. The annual salary shall be in the range of $,~~, CCU to $
5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton and approved by the
Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Serves as the Budge Administrator to the Mayor (with the consent of the council).
DIMENSIONS
Oversees city budget of approximately ten (10) million dollars, annual receipts of
approximately two (2) million dollars. Negotiates all contracts except labor
contracts.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNT ABILITY
Accountable for all duties of budget administrator assigned by the Mayor, with
the consent of the City Council.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for working with five (5) department heads and the city treasurer in
developing annual budgets, monitoring on a monthly basis, and reporting to the
Mayor and City Council any deviations.
Responsible for the development and managing a central purchasing function,
including the consolidation of suppliers and negotiating contracts of agreements.
Responsible for reviewing all bills monthly to assure conformance with
purchasing policies and procedures.
Attends all council and committee meetings.
