AN ORDINANCE REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY
GRAHAM HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION FROM AN R-3 ZONING
CONFIGURATION TO AN R-4 ZONING CONFIGURATION AND
ORDINANCE TO ALLOW A SPECIAL USE PERMIT
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
that the territory hereinafter described as located within the corporate limits of
said City of Canton; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that the territory
hereinafter described is owned by GRAN.AM. HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION, an
Illinois not-for-profit Corporation, your Petitioners are requesting that the property
hereinafter described be rezoned from an R-3 zoning configuration to an R-4
zoning configuration; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council, that a Petition for Special
Use Permif was filed by your Petitioners requesting permission to use the
property for office space to operate a home health business under 10-7-3(D) of
the R-4 Multi-Family Residential District; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a public hearing was
conducted by the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, in
accordance with the laws of this State and the ordinances of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois, on January 14, 2002, and said Planning & Zoning
Commission recommended that the property hereinafter described to be rezoned
from an R-3 zoning configuration to an R-4 zoning configuration and that a
Special Use Permit be given for the uses ident~ed in Petitioner's Petition.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, as follows:

Section 7: That the territory described as follows:
Lot Number Eight (8) in E. Johnson's Addition to the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois, commonly referred to as 340 South Avenue
8, Canton, Illinois.
being owned by Graham Hospital Association, an Illinois not-for-profit
Corporation be and the same is hereby rezoned from an R-3 zoning configuration
to an R-4 zoning Configuration, in accordance with the applicable rules, laws and
regulations of the Illinois Municipal Code.
Section 2: That the territory hereinabove described being owned by
Graham Hospital Association, an Illinois not-for-profit Corporation, be and fhe
same is hereby granted a Special Use Permit to operate the professional offices
of home healthcare at the location, in accordance with the. applicable rules, laws
and regulations of the Illinois Municipal Code.
Section 3: That the City zoning Administrator is hereby instructed and
ordered to make the necessary adjustments to the zoning map of the City of
Canton, Illinois, to reflect the rezoning hereunder, and to issue any Special Use
Permits in accordance with Petitioner's Petition.
Section 4: That this Ordinance was passed and became in full force
and effect immediately upon its passage by a majority vofe of the alderman
holding office in the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting.of
the City Council of the Cify of Canton, Illinois this 19~ day of
