Appointments
Mayor Meade asked the Council to send the request to the Fire and Police commission to move forward
with the appointment of a firefighter. Due to the recent retirement of Ron Cozad in the fire
department, a position remains vacant.
Motion and second was made by Aldermen Ellis/ Pickel to direct the fire and police commission to move
forward with the appointment of a firefighter.

IDOT Transportation Enhancement Grant
Mayor Meade stated the City needs to reapply for this grant. This will require a resolution of support
from the Council. Mayor Meade will sign a letter of support, which will allow the City to apply for the
grant. This item will be on the agenda in two weeks.
Mark Rothert reported that he scaled back on the original request made two years ago. The total
amount will be approximately $600,000.00-80% of this total would be paid by the grant. The City
would be responsible for the 20%.
