Resolution for the local improvem ents of West Walnut Street in the City
of Canton, Illinois, and designated as "Canton Pavement and Bridge (over Big
Creek) improvement No. 69-8.
Be It Resolved by the Board of Local Improvements of the City of Canton,
Illinois:
That a local improvement b~ and the same hereby is originated to be made
by special assessment within the City of Canton, County of Fulton, and State
of Illinois, as provided by Article 9, Division 2, of the'Cities and Village
Act, to be knowm as "Canton Pavement and Bridge Improvement No. 69-B." The
nature, character, location, extent, and estimated cost of which local improve-
ment is as follows, to-wit:
That the said improvement shall be constructed in conformance with the
plans bearing date of May 9, 1969, prepared by Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc.,
Consulting Engineers, of Springfield, Illinois;
That the roadway of the street hereinafter described be improved by the con-
struction of a 6-1/2 Bituminous Aggregate Mixture Base Course and a 1-1/2"
Bituminous Concrete Surface Course, Class I, Combination Concrete Curb and Gutter
together with necessary storm sewers, drainage structures and appurtenances. Also
the construction of a three (3) span (1 @ 30' and 2 @ 24') Reinforced Concrete
continuous slab Bridge over Big Creek.
That the pavement herein provided to be constructed on West Walnut~Street
shall be uniformly 36.0 feet in width as measured bet~reen front face of curbs
from Avenue "D" to West Corporate Limits (Arterial Street ~~8 Extension.)
In all respects the construction shall conform to the requirements as set forth .
in the "Standard Specification for Road and Bridge Construction" prepared by the
Department of Public Works and Buildings of the State of Illinois and adopted by
said Department August 1, 1968 and revisions and additions thereto;
That the estimated cost of said improvement,. including all necessary labor, ma-
terials, tools and equipment for the construction of said improvement, as made by
the Engineer of this Board is Three Hundred Twenty Six Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty
and NO/100 Dollars ($326,950.00) which said estimate is itemized as follows:

BE ST FURTHER RESOLVED, that the estimate aforesaid is itemized to
the satisfaction of this Board and the same is approved and ordered made
a part of this Resolution.
BE IT FUR`rH~;R RESOLVED, that the 20th_ day of November, A. D. 1569, at
the hour of 630 P. N. in the Council Chamber of the City Building of tre
City of Canton, Illinois, located at 210 East Chestnut Street, be fixed as
the time and p1acE for the public consideration thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that notices of the time and place of such
public consideration be prepared and mailed within the time and in the
manner prescribed by, la w.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be at once Transcribed
and spread upon the records of this Board.
