RESOLUTION N0. ~~~~ ~ ~ ,~

WHEREAS it appears to the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is with-
in the corporate limits of said municipality, and that the owner
thereof has appeared before the Planning and Zoning Commission of
said City, requesting that said property be re-zoned from R-1, Resi-
dentiai`, to R-4, Multiple-Family Residential, or, in the alternative,
that a condition use permit be granted so that said premises may be
used as a mental health facility; and
WHEREAS it further appears to the said City Council that
a majority of the property owners in the immediate vicinity of said
tract have consented to the re-zoning and/or conditional use permit;
and
WHEREAS it further appears that the owner, Graham Hospital
Association, has previously used said real estate for administrative
offices and as an additional storage facility, and proposes now to
use said real estate and improvements thereon as an office and clinic
facility for mental health purposes, as a part of and in conJunction
with the general hospital operation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, as follows:
1. That Graham Hospital Association be granted a conditional
use permit for real estate described as follows:
Part of Lot 24, FRENCH'S ADDITION to the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois, beginning at the Southeast cor-
ner of said Lot 24, running thence West 54 feet 3 inches,
thence North 180 feet, thence East 54 feet 3 inches, and
thence South to the point of beginning, commonly known as
205 West Walnut Street, Canton, Illinois,
for use as an office and clinic facility for mental health
purposes.
2. That the improvements on said real estate shall continue
to have the appearance of a residence, and that at such
future date as the hospital ceases to use said real estate
as a mental health facility this conditional use permit
shall immediately terminate.
3. That this resolution shall be in effect from and after a
two-thirds "aye" and "no" vote of the City Council of the
City of Canton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED by a two-thirds "aye" and "no" vote of the City Council and
APPROVED by the Mayor this 2d day of May, 1972.
