Mechanical Committee Minutes
City Council Chambers @ Historic Depot
December 26, 2000 - 6:30 p.m.

Public Safety & Traffic Committee

Mayor Edwards opened the committee meeting with a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. for the
purpose of closing out the $100,000 grant which the City received for the design
engineering on the water system improvement project. Pam Miner from Western Illinois
Regional Council conducted the hearing. $93,000 was spent for the actual work and
$7,000 went to WIRC for administration of the grant funds. Pam asked for comments.
Hearing none a motion was made by Alderman Hartford, seconded by Alderman Shores
to close the public hearing at 6:35 p.m. Voice vote, motion carved.
Chief Stanko distributed the monthly fire department report along with the ESDA report.
Both were self-explanatory.
Chief Elam distributed the monthly police report which was self-explanatory.
No other business was discussed. The Public Safety and Traffic Committee adjourned.
Streets & Garbage Committee

No business was discussed under Streets and Garbage, and the committee adjourned.
Lake, Buildings & Grounds Committee

No business was discussed and the committee adjourned.
Public Works, Water & Sewer Committee
Jim May, Chairman
Attorney Elson reported that he is working on getting the easements for the new water
line from the lake. Research has revealed that there will be up to 9 easements required on
this project.
Kim Jackson, owner of 'lm Hall on East Elm Street reported the committee that
Dahm Hall has been listed for sale and that she feels confident it will be sold. She said
that she and her husband were unable to attend the last Legal and Ordinance meeting.
No other business was discussed and the committee adjourned.
