HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #3917 - recognizing the capability of operating a dual source water systemRESOLUTION NO. 3 917 A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE CITY OF CANTON'S CAPABILITY OF OPERATING A DUAL SOURCE WATER SYSTEM WHEREAS, Canton Lake is a source of raw water for the City of Canton's water distribution system; and WHEREAS, in 2009 the City of Canton began construction of a collector well on City owned property near Banner, Illinois and also constructed a raw water transmission main between said site and the City of Canton's water plant; and WHEREAS, the once the collector well is fully operational, it will give the City the capability of drawing water either from Canton Lake or from the collector well. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the City intends to operate a water distribution system with the capability of drawing from dual raw water sources. 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois at a regular meeting this 2nd day of March , 2010 upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldermen Pickle, Hartford, Ellis, Rivero, Sarff, West, Schenck, Reed.
