DISCUSS, CONSIDER FISCAL YEAR 2024 FLEET PROGRAM PURCHASES.
Joe Carruthers was in attendance and stated that they already had 2 new fleet vehicles
budgeted for fiscal year 2024 from local dealers. They want to start to shop local and keep the
money in the community.

OPTIONS.
Elia with DACOT was in attendance to answer any questions and speak about the program. The
council discussed and decided to discuss definite numbers and plan options at the special

meeting being held on Friday April 21 at 6:30 P.M.
DISCUSS, CONSIDER, AND VOTE ON A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH VECTOR
SOLUTIONS FOR FIRE FIGHTER CERTIFICATION TRAINING.
Fire Chief Scott Roos stated that the office of the State Fire Marshal now requires that there be
training hours behind any certificate held by a fire fighter. This program will help communicate
with the state and get the trainings to get certifications through the state.
Motion and second were made by Alderpersons Grimm/Nelson to approve a resolution for a
contract with Vector Solutions for fire fighter certification training.

CHERRY STREET PAVEMENT RECONSTRUCTION.
Three bids were received for this project. Illinois Civil Contractors bid for $159,852.34. The next
lowest bid was for $169,405.00. The funds will be coming out of the MFT Fund.
Motion and second were made by Alderpersons Fritz/Gossett to approve a bid of $159,852.34
from Illinois Civil Contractors for Cherry Street pavement reconstruction.

DISCUSS, CONSIDER, AND VOTE TO ACCEPT BID FOR MFT SPRAY PATCHING WORK.
Only one bid was put in by Ace in the Hole for $55,912.50 which will be coming out of the MFT
Fund.
Motion and second were made by Alderpersons Fritz/Gossett to accept a bid for MFT Spray
Patching work from Ace in the Hole for $55,912.50.

MAYOR COMMUNICATION
Mayor McDowell wanted to give thanks to the Fire Department, Police Departments,
and Public Works Department. He received a call from the Mayor in Bryant saying how
grateful he and the community were with all the assistance in a time of need when the
tornado hit the village of Bryant.
Also, to the Spoon River College baseball and softball teams, Canton football team and
cheerleading squad. They assisted with clean up as well in Bryant and Lewistown.

session for 5 ILCS 120/2 C11.
