(A Resolution in implementation of the acquisition of realty interests
involved in a ~roject of the City of Canton, Illinois, formally known
as "WS-ILL-263 (and, more informally, known and referred to as "water
and sewer project")).
Whereas, the City of Canton, Illinois has heretofore committed itself in
implementation of a project calculated to upgrade and improve the sewer and
water systems of this City, which project has been formally designated as
"WS-ILL-263" and which is more generally referred to as "the water and sewer
project;" and,
Whereas, said project is in part Federally funded; and,
Whereas, certain land acquisitions, (notably, those appertaining to a
storm water sewer segment of said project,) have heretofore been acquired or
made, through inadvertency or lack of understanding, without regard to proced-
ural steps or guidelines imposed by the Federal Government in implementation
of a Federal land acquisition law; and,
Whereas, it has now been made to spear that it is necessary to make re-
acquisitions of said realty by way of remedy and in conformity with said pro-
cedural steps or guidelines; and,
Whereas, it has been further made to appear necessitous that such re-acq-
uisitions should proceed and be made in such manner and without undue delay,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT, AND IT HEREBY IS, RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
(1) That William H. Malmgren be, and he hereby is, employed, appointed
and empowered to take, cause and further such actions in the premises hereof
as may be necessary and appro~rt~ate to procure the land acquisitions herein
contemplated in conformity/and in satisfaction of the procedural requirements
of the Federal Government; and, further,
(2) That he be, and he hereby is, directed, as a part of his activities
in the premises hereof,/~ake written report of his activities and determinations

touching thereon to this Council and to the Department of Housing and Urban
Development and as contemplated in and by that certain letter (touching on the
premises hereof), dated November 23, 1976, addressed to the Mayor of this City,
from Department of Housing and Urban Development, and over the signature of
Woodrin E. Kee.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approved
by the Mayor thereof at a regular formal meeting thereof this 7th day of
December, 1976. ----
