COMPETETIVE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS REGARDING SAME.
Let the record reflect that Alderman Grimm arrived at 12:35P.M.
Utility Director Joe Carruthers was in attendance to give information and updates on the project. Last
week crews were checking water pipes with a camera and came across a compressed pipe. Upon further
investigation, they found that there was a large void under the roadway from being washed out and the
man holes are no longer in working condition. IDOT advised that this be fixed immediately and they are
assisting with getting the issue fixed.
Lavender Construction is building new man holes for this project and will have them done by 4/25/2023.
The West side of the road is dug up and back filled, concrete will be poured and the roadway should be
opened back up by 4:00PM. Tomorrow, 4/25/2023 will be the East side of the road

approving emergency repairs up to $50,000 at the intersection of Main Street and Olive Street
and waiving competitive bidding regarding same.
