HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1991ORDINANCE NO. i A A ~ AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1966 PROVIDING FOR A NO PARKING SIGN AT THE 200 BLOCK OF WEST PINE STREET PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE STREET FOR 75 FEET EAST OF THE INTERSECTION WITH AVENUE C, IN THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Public Safety & Traffic Committee that the safety concerns prompting the passage of Ordinance No. 1966 may have been inaccurate. In addition, after a canvass of the neighborhood by the representing aldermen, a majority of the citizens agreed that the sign should be removed. Therefore, the Public Safety & Traffic Committee has determined it is in the best interests of the citizens of Canton to repeal Ordinance No. 1966 and the no parking sign removed. WHEREAS, the City Council has made a similar determination. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows: 1. That Ordinance No. 1966 is hereby repealed and the No Parking sign shall be removed. 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 6th day of October , 2009 upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES• Aldermen Reed, Schenck, West, Sarff, Rivero, Ellis, Hartford.
