Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance #4343 - Directing and Setting the Date for the Sale at Public Auction of Certain Personal PropertyORDINANCE NO. 4343 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING, DIRECTING AND SETTING THE DATE FOR THE SALE AT PUBLIC AUCTION OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF CANTON AND NO LONGER NEEDED FOR CITY PURPOSES WHEREAS, the corporate authorities have determined that the City of Canton (the "City") owns certain items of personal property, listed in the attached "Exhibit A" (the "Personal Property"), that no longer needed or used for City purposes; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: The Personal Property listed in "Exhibit A" is hereby approved for sale and shall be sold at an online public auction to the highest bidder(s). Such auction shall be conducted by Gorsuch Realty & Auction, 1050 N. Main Canton 11 61520 (www.gotogorsuch.com), and held from June 10, 2023 — June 17, 2023, and continuing until all items are sold or until bidding has terminated. 2. Advertisement of such sale shall be made by Gorsuch Realty & Auction. Such advertisement shall provide the web address for the location of the online auction. 3. The Mayor (or his designee) may, in his discretion, hire and employ one or more professional auctioneer(s) (including, but not limited to Gorsuch Realty & Auction) to assist in such auction and/or the Mayor (or his designee) may cause the City to incur reasonable expenses in relation to the holding of the auction by Gorsuch Realty & Auction. 4. That this Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, by at least 3/ 4 vote of the Corporate Authorities and approval of the Mayor thereof.
