A regular meeting of the Canton City Council was held on May 6, 2003 in the Council
Chambers at the Historic Depot, 50 North 5`" Avenue, Canton, Illinois.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE OPENED THE MEETING, FOLLOWED BY THE
INVOCATION GIVEN BY NANCY WHITES, CITY CLERK.
Mayor Bohler asked for roll call at 6:30 p.m. Present -Aldermen Bob Molleck, Jim
Hartford, Larry Sarff, Craig West, Les Carl, Kevin Meade, Jo Anne Shores, & Mary
Fillingham. Absent -None.
MINUTES OF APRIL 15TH, 2003 MEETING. Motion and second by Aldermen
Molleck/Hartford, the minutes of April 15`h, 2003 be accepted and placed on file. Voice
vote, motion carried unanimously.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Public Safety & Traffic.

Streets & Garbage.
Council Action
None.
Informational. Alderman Shores said she had comments about how Elm Street & Main
Street are beginning to look good, and it is long over due.
Lake, Buildings & Grounds.
Council Action
None.
Informational. Alderman Carl commented that the Lake Committee met on April 30`h
and the meeting was opened to the public. We received a lot of helpful suggestions.
COMMUNICATIONS FROM MAYOR BOHLER. Mayor Bohler thanked those in
the audience for coming, wished this many were here every night.
Motion and second by Aldermen Sarff/Fillingham, to renew the Cox Re-Insurance policy
for Health Insurance for the City of Canton for one additional year. Discussion. City
Attorney Ron Weber commented the issue is in regards for an additional years coverage.
This is a supplemental to the health insurance. Roll call. AYES - Fillingham, Shores,
Meade, Carl, West, Sarff, Hartford, Molleck. NAYS - None. 8 AYES, 0 NAYS, 0
ABSENT. Motion carried.
MFT Funds -road repair recommendations. Mayor Bohler asked for the Aldermen to
give their various streets that need repair within a month to his office or to Clif O'Brien.

Mayor Bohler asked fora 5 minute recess for the new members to take their seats and for
the other aldermen to switch seats.
MOTION -SINE & DIE. Motion and second by Aldermen Molleck/Hartford, the
meeting to adjourn by sine & die. Voice vote, motion carried unanimously.
The regular scheduled council meeting adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
