COMMUNICATIONS FROM MAYOR BOHLER. Colin Edwards from Maurer Stutz spoke to the council about change order #2 from River City for the demolition of the Drow Building, and also, pay request #2 from River City on the demolition of the Drow Building. And retainage of 10% ($7,190.19) of the total amount of work completed through January 16, 2003, should be withheld. Colin said the demolition went fairly well. In the process of finishing up the wall, Clif O'Brien, Colin Edwards and David Maurer observed structure problems. The area of the common wall between the roof joists and the roof line is in very poor condition. The wall structure at this location is unstable due to loose mortar (having the consistency of dust), from a foot to 18 inches below the roof line. The contractor on the project had asked for an opinion. It was determined this is above and beyond the contract, and does need to be done or there will be potential problems. Also additional water proofmg, and more cleanup than was anticipated was done. And a reasonable time frame completion of grading work with a date of April 17, 2003. The grading work is due to weather conditions.
