BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That for the General Municipal Primary Election in the City
of Canton, Illinois, to be held February 22, 1977 and for the nomination
of Candidates for the following City Offices: Mayor, City Clerk, Treasurer
and, two Aldermen for ?,lord One (one for two year term and one for four year
term), one Alderman for each of Wards Two, Three, Four, Five, Six and Seven
(for four year term each); and for the General runicipal Election to be held
on April 19, 19?7 for the purpose of electing a Mayor, City Clerk, Treasurer
and, two Aldermen for ward One (one for two year term and one for four year
term), one Alderman for each of wards Two, Three, Four, Five, Six and Seven
(for four year term each), all in said City, the following places in said
City for the holding of said elections are hereby designated:
First Ward: St. Marys Gymnasium, 365 North Third Avenue;
Second Ward: John Dean School, 545 North Avenue B;
Third Ward: ~ntallace Park, 250 South Avenue D;
Fourth JJard: Community Building, 1002 East Oak Street;
Fifth "vdard: Grand Army of the Republic Memorial Hall, 45 South First;
Sixth Ward: Community Workshop, 647 East Pine St.; and,
Seventh 'Hard: Canton Junior High School, 1605 East Ash St.
Section 2. That the following persons are hereby appointed as Judges
of said Primary Election and of said General Election:
First 'oaard: R~6~,H/l~i~/~~.Xck~~ Pauline Burkhead, Vivian Hubbard, Lorene Owings,
Hazel Nelson, and Nellie Arnett.
Second Ward: Helena Kauzlarich, Frances P-"cMullen, Jeanette Burns, and
Aiargaret Culton.~ Berniece Buckley.
Third bdard: Helen Voorhees, Rose Royer, Joan Hoff, Gladys I~~Ianuel, and
Leona Boyer.
Fourth '~r'ard: Peary Johnson, Hazel Stambaugh, Blanche 'v~ilkinson,
P%tarilee Amerine, and E11en Landis.
Fifth 'idard: Linda Sepich, An;ie Putman, Peary Dallefeld, Rose Allen,
and, Lucille '~1alker.
Sixth ;lard: Louise Grzanich, ?Te1en Stufflebeam, Barbara Yurkovich,
Lucille Geesernan, and P~:aurice Brasel.
Seventh Ward: Iva GJaddell, Joann Bankes, Elaine Smith, Louise Curtwright,
and Betty P~".oore.
Section 3. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby authorized and
directed to give notice and to do and perform all other acts on her part
necessary or required to provide for the holding of said elections in manner
and form as prescribed by law.
PASSED by the City Council and apy~roved by the Piayor this 4th day of
January, A.D. 1977.
