A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE DISBANDMENT OF EXISTING COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT RELATED CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEES AND THE IM-
PLEMENTATION OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CITIZEN ADVISORY
AND TASK FORCE COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, the City of Canton, Illinois, over a period of years, has devised and
implemented numerous citizen advisory committees; and,
WHEREAS, it is not now possible to determine the membership, structure and/or
current status of these various citizen advisory committees; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Community Development for the City of Canton desires
to organize and structure a citizen advisory and task force committee to work
with that Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
1. That all citizen advisory committees, having existed, been formulated or cur-
rently existing whose primary role was/is to serve the Department of Community
Development or the City Council of the City of Canton on Housing and Urban Develop-
ment funding and report and/or grant preparation related to the Department of
Community Development are herein disbanded and shall cease to exist.
2. The Director of the Department of Community Development is herein authorized
to organize and create a Citizen Advisory and Task Force Committee to work with
and assist the Department of Community Development.
3. The By-Laws of the Citizen Advisory and Task Force Committee of the Department -
of Community Development shall be made known to and approved by the City Council
of the City of Canton.
4. Members of the Citizen Advisory Committee and Task Force shall be duly appointed
by the City Council of the City of Canton in accordance with approved committee
By-Laws at t-e earliest feasible time.
