A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PiJRCHASE OF A P4AP.I:ED POLICE CAR FOR THE CITX
OF CANTON POLICE DEPARTP~NT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has
determined that the City of Canton Police Department is in need of a new
marked police car; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has further
determined that the interests of the City would be best be sub served by
not letting bids for the purchase of such police car; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has further
determined that the best interests of the City would be subserved by the
purchase of such new police car; and,
WHEREAS, it appears that Schaumburg Motors of Schaumburg, Illinois
presently has on hand some twenty (20) Illinois State Police Bid 1981
Dodge Saint Regis Automobiles containing the full police package, each
having a purchase price of approximately $8,400.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, UPON CONSIDERATION, BE IT, AND IT HEREBY IS, RESOLVED
AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the best interests of the City of Canton, Illinois are sub-
served by purchasing a new 1981 Dodge Saint Regis Automobile from Schaumburg
Tlotors in Schaumburg, Illinois, said vehicle to contain the full police
package, without the necessity of completing the normal bidding process.
2. That the Police Chief of the City of Canton, Illinois, subject to
the direction of the Mayor of the City of Canton, Illinois, is hereby
authorized and directed to purchase one (1) State Police Bid 1981 Dodge
Saint Regis Automobile containing the full police package from Schaumburg,
Motors in Schaumburg, Illinois, for a total purchase price not to exceed
the amount of $8,500.00.
3. That the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Canton, Illinois,
are hereby authorized and directed to take such acts as may be necessary to
cause the purchase of the aforesaid automobile from Schaumburg Motors for a
purchase price not to exceed $8,500.00.
4. That the City Treasurer of the City of Canton, Illinois, is hereby
authorized and directed to issue the City's check to Schaumburg Motors
in an amount not to exceed $8,500.00 upon receiving proper instructions
from the Mayor.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and
APPROVED by the Mayor thereof this ~~t H day of August, 1981.
