HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance # 1836~. ORDINANCE NO. 1i~36 An Ordinance Granting a Special Use Permit for Multiple Family Dwelling in a B-2 Zoning Configuration at 106 Martin Avenue, Canton, Illinois. WHEREAS, the property, hereinafter described in Paragraph 1 ("Putrich Property', is located within the corporate limits of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois; and WHEREAS, the Putrich Property is improved with a brick building and parking area thereon; and WHEREAS, Petitioners, TAD J. PUTRICH and BARBARA A. PUTRICH, desire that the .property be utilized for a multiple family dwelling; and WHEREAS, the property is currently zoned in a B-2 zoning configuration allowing for substantial business uses as a part of the central business district; and WHEREAS, the surrounding neighborhood consists of mixed residential and business uses, and a multiple family dwelling use for the property is consistent with good zoning and planning as a step down area from the heavy commercial use to the surrounding residential uses in the neighborhood; and WHEREAS, on April 11, 2005, the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton met, pursuant to Notice as required by law, and held a public hearing concerning the Petitioners' request to be granted a Special Use Permit for the Putrich property for a multiple family dwelling use, to be located in a 6-2 central business district, and said public hearing was advertised according to law and at said meeting, MSW-REAL ESTATE 1 Putrich Ordinance sb mmission unanimously recommended the granting of the the Planning & Zoning Co Iti le family use in the B-2 zoning configuration for the Putrich Special Use Permit for mu p property. RE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NOW, THEREFO , CANTON, ILLINOIS, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION: e 106 That the property known and described as the Putrich Prop rtY, 1. Canton, Illinois, said properly being more particularly described as Martin Avenue, follows: A part of Lots 17 and 18 in ]ones' Third Addition follows: Beg nn ng at a County of Fulton and StaeeNorthwest corneb of said Lot 17, thence South point 110 feet East of th 105 feet, thence East 93.94 feet to the EastLlo~ 1~ fthence West 93 94 North 105 feet to the Northeast corner of said , feet to the point of beginning. Parcel Identification No.: 09-08-27-417-003/005 shall be and the same is hereby granted a Special Use Permit for a multiple family residential dwelling, to be located in the existing B-2 central business district zoning configuration in accordance with the Zoning Ordinances of the City of Canton. 2. That the corporate authorities of the City of Canton, Illinois, and their respective officers and agents shall be and they are hereby authorized to amend the existing zoning maps of the City of Canton, Illinois, to reflect the granting of the Special Use Permit for multiple family residential dwelling in a B-2 central business district MSW-REAL ESTATE Putsch Ordinance sb 2 zoning configuration for the Putrich Properly, and the corporate zoning maps of the City of Canton, Illinois, shall be and the same are hereby so noted. 3. That this Ordinance shall be filed with the appropriate authorities of the City of Canton, Illinois, to reflect the granting of the Special Use Permit as aforesaid. 4. That the Mayor of the City of Canton, Illinois, shall be and he is hereby authorized to affix his signature as the Mayor of said City to this Ordinance and the City Clerk of the City of Canton, Illinois, shall be and she is hereby authorized to attest such signature thereto.
