RESOLUTION NO. 1133
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCRUAL OF SICK DAYS BY FULL-TIME,
NON-PROBATIONARY CITY EMPLOYEES NOT COVERED BY A COLLECTIVE
BARGAINING AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Negotiations, Grievance and Personnel Committee
has determined that it is in the best interest of the City of
Canton to permit full-time, non-probationary City employees who
are not covered by a collective bargaining agreement to accrue
sick days as hereinafter provided; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be fact.
2. That all full-time, non-probationary City employees who are
not covered by, or, subject to a collective bargaining agreement
to which the City of Canton, as an employer, is a party are hereby
authorized to accrue and to accumulate their annual sick days up to
a maximum of 30 sick days. However, that such accrued sick days are
to be used by the employee only and that the City of Canton will not
pay or reimburse a~.y affected City employee for accumulated, unused
sick days upon termination of such employment with the City of Canton.
Further, that nothing herein shall ever be construed other than as
expressly set forth in this paragraph relative to non-payment for
sick days upon termination of employment.
3. That this Resolution is specifically made applicable only
to full-time, non-probationary City employees who are not covered
by, or, subject to a collective bargaining agreement to which the
City of Canton, as an employer, is a party; all City employees
covered by, or, subject to any such collective bargaining agreement
shall continue to be covered by such agreement and are exempt from
the provisions of this resolution.
4. That the manner and/or method of accrual and accumulation
of sick days as herein provided shall be in conformity with the
City of Canton's personnel policy.
5. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois at a regular meeting this 21 day of January
1986, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, Bohler, Workman, Sarff, Steck,
Zilly, Kovachevich.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.
