ORDINANCE
SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR
JERRY A. SAWYER and LAURLYN SAWYER
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, that THE NATIONAL BANK OF CANTON, Trustee for
Emma Z. Cooper, and JERRY A. SAWYER and LAURLYN SAWYER, have peti-
tinned for a Special Use Permit pursuant to Title 10, Chapter 11,
Section 7, of the City Code of the City of Canton, Illinois; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that the prop-
erty for which the Special Use Permit is requested is located at
170 North Third Avenue, in the City of Canton, Illinois, and is
currently in a zoning configuration of R-4; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that your
petitioner, The National Bank of Canton, as Trustee for Emma Z.
Cooper, is contract seller, and Jerry A. Sawyer and Laurlyn Saw-
yer are contract purchasers of property and will be operating an
upholstery shop at 170 North Third Avenue, Canton, Illinois; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that the Plan-
Wing and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton has held a public
hearing on said petition for Special Use Permit on the 15th day of
September, 1980, and has found that it is deemed necessary for the
public interest and convenience at that location that the Special
Use Permit be allowed in the R-4 zoning configuration to allow the
use of said real estate with improvements for a home occupation
upholstery shop, subject to the following specific restrictions:
1. No outside storage be allowed;
2. PJo enlargement of the physical plant for
business purposes be allowed.
THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the
City of Canton, Illinois:

Section 1. That JERRY A. SAWYER and LAURLYN SAWYER be
granted a Special Use Permit, pursuant to Title 10, Chapter 7,
Section 3(a) of the City Code of the City of Canton, Illinois, to
be issued by the Zoning Administrator upon date of first occupancy
of the premises located at 170 North Third Avenue, Canton, Illi-
nois, by Jerry A. Sawyer and Laurlyn Sawyer, for a home occupation
upholstery shop, subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter
mentioned pursuant to Title 10, Chapter 17, Section 7(d) of the
City Code of the City of Canton:
1. No outside storage be allowed;
2. No enlargement of the physical plant for
business purposes be allowed.
Section 2. That this permit shall not be transferable.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in effect from
and after a majority vote of the City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois, and approved by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by a majority vote of the City Council of the
City of Canton, Illinois, and approved by the Mayor thereof this
