ORDINANCE N0. ~ ~_
AN ORDINANCE MAKING THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION FOR CORPORATE PURPOSES OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING MAY 1, 1980
AND ENDING APRIL 30, 1981.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1. That the following sums of money, or so much thereof as
may be authorized by law, be and the same are hereby appropriated to pay
all necessary expenses and liabilities of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois, for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 1980 and ending April 30,
1981, such appropriations are hereby made for the following objects and
purposes:
CITY ADMINISTRATION:
A tax not to exceed .250% of the full
fair cash value, as equalized or assessed
by the Department of Revenue of the
State of Illinois, on all taxable
property in the City of Canton, Illinois:

2. That the City Council may, at any time after the first half of this
Fiscal Year, by a two-thirds vote of its membership, make a transfer within
any department or other separate agency of the City Government, of sums of
money appropriated for one corporate object or purpose to another corporate
object or purpose, but no appropriation for any object or purpose shall
thereby be reduced below any amount sufficient to cover all obligations
incurred or to be incurred against such appropriation.
3. By a vote of two-thirds of the City Council, this Appropriation
Ordinance may be revised by deleting, adding to, changing or creating new
objects or purposes for which appropriations have or may be made. No
revision of this Appropriation Ordinance shall be made adding to th.e total
amount appropriated unless additional funds have been made available during
the Fiscal Year in the amount the total appropriations are so increased.
4. This Ordinance shall be known as the "Annual Appropriation Ordi-
nance" of the City of Canton, Illinois.
5. This Ordinance shall be in effect ten days after its passage by
the City Council, approval of the Mayor and publication according to law.

NOTICE
Please take notice that pursuant to the provisions of the Federal
Revenue Sharing Act and the Illinois Revised Statutes, the City of Canton
will hold a public hearing on the proposed uses of Federal Revenue Sharing
Funds and the proposed appropriation ordinance.
The public hearing will be held at 7:00 P.M., July 15, 1980 at the
Council Chambers, City Hall, 210 East Chestnut Street, Canton, Illinois.
The proposed uses of the Federal Revenue Sharing Funds are as follows:

Copies of the proposed Federal Revenue Sharing Budget and the proposed
appropriation ordinance will be available for public inspection and examination
at the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Canton, Canton City Building,
210 East Chestnut Street, Canton, Illinois, Monday through Friday between the
hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.
Interested citizens may attend the public hearing and shall have the
right to provide oral and written comments on the proposed uses for the
Federal Revenue Sharing Funds and the proposed appropriation ordinance.
All interested citizens will be given an opportunity to be heard at
the hearing.
Subsequent to the public hearing, and before final action is taken
on the proposed appropriation ordinance, the corporate authorities of the
City of Canton may revise, alter, increase or decrease the items contained
in said proposed Federal Revenue Sharing Budget and said proposed appro-
priation ordinance.
