ORDINANCE NO.~d
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING FOR MORE THAN TWO CONSECUTIVE HOURS
BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 6:00 A.M. AND 6:00 P.M. ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF WEST
MAPLE STREET IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS BETWEEN SOUTH MAIN STREET
AND SOUTH AVENUE B.
WHEREAS, the Streets and Traffic Committee of the City of Canton,
Illinois has determined that it is necessary to prohibit parking for more
than two consecutive hours between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
on the South side of West Maple Street in the City of Canton between South
Main Street and South Avenue B; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made
a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted for
more than two consecutive hours at any one time between the hours of 6:00
a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on the South side of West Maple Street in the City of
Canton, Illinois between the west curb line of South Main Street and the
east curb line of South Avenue B.
2. That the appropriate officials of the City shall post appropriate
signs and make appropriate markings informing people of this Ordinance.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be subject to a fine of not less than five dollars ($5.00), nor more
than two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 10 days
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication according to law.
