ORDINANCE NO . 9 g 5
AN OR~-INANCE PROVIDING FOR A STOP SIGN AT' THE INTERSECTION OF NORTH AVENUE B
AND WEST MYRTLE STREET IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS,-the Public Safety and Traffic Commitee of the Canton City Council
has determined that it is necessary to place a stop sign at the intersection
of North Avenue B and West Myrtle Street in the City of Canton, Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTOr1,
Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That a stop sign shall be placed at the Southeast corner of the inter-
section of the North Avenue B and West Myrtle Street in the City of Canton,
Illinois. And, that every driver of a motor vehicle approaching said intersection
from the South shall bring the vehicle under his control to a complete stop before
entering said intersection and shall only then proceed when a safe interval occurs
in traffic.
2. That the Stre~tSuperintendent shall post ~propriate signs informing the
public of this Ordinance.
3. That any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be subject to a fine of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) not more than Two
Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each such offense.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as
provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
at a regular meeting this 1 4th day of J u 1.y , 1983 , upon a roll call
vote as follows:
AYES Aldermen Horr, May, Carl, Workman, Savill, Kovachevich.
NAPES : N one .
ABSENT: Aldermen Sarff, Hammond.
