AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE USE OF PUBLIC BENEFIT TAX FUNDS, HUD AMENDMENT
FUNDS, AND TAX INCREMENT FUNDS FOR IMPROVEMENTS IN THE VICINITX OF JONES PARK,
ALL WITHIN CITY OF CANTON TAX INCREMENT AREA NUMBER ONE.
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has on hand the approximate sum of $15,000.00
in Public Benefit Tax funds; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has on hand the approximate sum of $25,000.00
in Tax Increment Tax funds; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has on hand the approxifr-ate sum of $10,000.00
in HUD Amendment funds; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that it is necessary and
in the best interest of the City of Canton to make certain improvements in
the vicinity of Jones Park, all within the City of Canton Tax Increment Area
Number One.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds that the proposed extension
of Main Street to Elm Street, the renovation of public sidewalks, and other
associated improvements is 40% in the public interest.
2. That the Public Benef it Tax funds not to exceed $15,000.00 now on hand
are hereby appropriated and assessed to said project.
3. That the Tax Increment Tax funds not to exceed $25,000.00 now on hand
are hereby appropriated and assessed to said project.
4. That the HUD Amendment funds not to exceed $10,000.00 now on hand are
hereby appropriated and assessed to said project.
5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon
its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois,
and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
at a special meeting this 16th day of September, 1985, upon a roll call vote as
follows:
AYES: Aldermen Chapman,
Kovachevich,
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Alderman Bohler .
