Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance #1050-~ ORDINANCE NO. 1 f15~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 1047, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE RESCINDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 996, ENTITLED: 'AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING TAX INCREMENT FINANCING (AREA NUMBER TWO)', AND ABOLISHING CITY OF CANTON TAX INCREMENT AREA NUMBER TWO". WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has previously adopted Ordinance Number 1047 with the expressed intent that City of Canton Tax Incre- ment Area Number Two be abolished with the same force and effect as though it had never been created; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Canton has approved Ordinance Number 1047; and, WHEREAS, a certified copy of Ordinance Number 1047 has been filed with the Fulton County Clerk; and, WHEREAS, the City of Canton is now advised by the County of Fulton that Ordinance Number 1047 should be amended to specifically provide that there shall be no tax increment taxing effect in former City of Canton Tax Increment Area Number Two for the years 1983, 1984, and subsequent years. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. That the foregoing clauses and recitals are hereby found to be fact by the Canton City Council. 2. That Ordinance Number 1047, entitled: "An Ordinance Rescindinct Ordinance Number 996, Entitled: 'An Ordinance Adopting Tax Increment Financing (Area Number Two)', and Abolishing City of Canton Tax Incre- ment Area Number Two," is hereby amended at numerical paragraph two (2) thereof by adding the following sentence ~ "~1'he, >rescisso~` herein pro- vided for shall be effective as of December 20, 1983 and no tax incre- ment taxing effect in former City of Canton Tax Increment Area Number Two for the years 1983, 1984, and for subsequent years shall be exper- ienced". 3. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a certified copy of this Ordinance to be filed of record with the Office of the Fulton County Clerk immediately upon its passage and approval. 4. That this Ordinance shall be'in full force and effect immedi- ately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof.
