DISCUSS,CONSIDER AND VOTE ON A RECOMMENDATION TO COUNCIL FOR THE FINANCING
OF A DUMP TRUCK WITH USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY FACILITIES GRANT
FUNDS TO BE REIMBURSED TOWARDS THE PURCHASE PRICE.
Information was distributed for review. Treasurer Wilkinson explained that Ipava State Bank
is the lowest bidder of the bids received. If the City decides to go with Ipava and put
$50,000.00 down at the time of purchase the total interest paid over the four years will be
$5,996.00 by financing$118,690.00. The scheduled payment annually would be$31,171.57.
The rate is slightly over 2.0%. If the City purchases this truck and all of the documents are in
place,. rural development wants the legal opinion and purchase order before they would
deposit into the city's account $50,000.00. Once we have the funds, the City could then pay
this to the bank and then the next payment would not be for another year. The City could
then budget for the truck in the next fiscal year. Attorney Jump will prepare a financing
resolution for council's consideration.
Motion and second were made by Alderman West/Nelson to recommend to council using
Ipava State Bank to finance the purchase of the dump truck in the amount of $118,690.00
and the committee finds it in the best interest to purchase the truck and finance it.
