A RESOLUTION APPROVING A SUPPLEL~I'I'AL ENGINEERING AC~2EEN~NT BEIWEELQ THE CITY
OF CAN'InN AND CRAWFORD, MURPHY & TILLY, INC. AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER SAID AGREII`~N'I' ON BEHALI' OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has reviewed the proposed Supplemental Engineering
Agreement, a copy of which is hereto attached and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A";
and,
Wf~2EAS, the Canton City Council has determined that it is desireable and in
the best interest of the City of Canton to approve said agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the Supplemental Engineering Agreement between the City of Canton
and Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc., which is attached hereto and made a part hereof
as Exhibit "A", is hereby approved.
2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute
and deliver said Supplemental Engineering Agreement on behalf of the City of Canton.
3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval
by the Mayor thereof.

SUPPLEMENTAL ENGINEERING AGREEMENT
TO
ENGINEERING AGREEMENT
DATED JUNE 18, 1985
BETWEEN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS
AND
CRAWFORD, MURPHY & TILLY, INC.
STEP 3 SERVICES
SANITARY SEWER AND SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Canton, Illinois, entered into an agreement dated
June 18, 1985 with Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. to provide certain
professional engineering services in connection with the implementation of
Step 3, for Sanitary Sewer and Sewage Treatment Plant Improvements, and
WHEREAS, the specification for the West Side STP included a provision
to allow the successful bidder to substitute equipment not named in the
specification, but accepted as equal, provided the successful bidder would pay
the cost of any additional engineering work required by the equipment change
with the further stipulation that the required engineering work would be done
by Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc., and
WHEREAS, Heinz Construction, Inc., the successful bidder, has proposed the
use of alternate tertiary filters for the West Side Sewage Treatment Plant, and
WHEREAS, the incorporation of this alternate equipment requires a complete
redesign of the tertiary filter building including architectural work,
structural, mechanical and electrical engineering work. The redesign, when
completed, will be submitted to IEPA for a supplemental permit to construct,
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the parties hereto do mutually agree
that the aforesaid AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES, dated June 18, 1985 be
supplemented as follows:
1. Engineering services required for redesign of facilities requested by
Heinz Construction, Inc. to facilitate equipment changes shall be paid
for at the attached Schedule of Hourly Charges for time actually
required to provide their services plus any direct cost incurred.
2. Heinz Construction, Inc. agrees to pay the City of Canton, Illinois
for all costs incurred by the City for the services herein described.

To the amount charged at rates shown will be added the actual cost of stakes, blueprints, supplies, toll calls,
transportation and subsistence directly incidental to the performance of services. A rental charge will be
made when computer facilities, electronic measuring equipment, flow monitoring equipment or nuclear
density equipment aze used directly on assignment. In the event that additional services such as exploratory
drilling, materials testing, aerial photogrammetry, foundation studies or other specialized activities are fur-
nished to the ENGINEER by another organization, reimbursement for such services shall be at actual cost
plus ten percent.
If assignment requires payment of premium for overtime hours these rates will be adjusted to include
premium costs.
These rates aze subject to change upon reasonable and proper notice. In any event this schedule will expire
and be superseded by a new schedule on or about January 1, 1988.
