Discussion took place regarding the campground at Canton Lake. Mayor McDowell explained
that some of the rules at the campground will be changing on May 29, 2020 according to 3rd
phase of Governor's Pritzker's plan to re-open. Based upon the Governor's guidelines there will
still not be any groups of over 10 people allowed and they must obey the social distancing
guidelines of six feet distance from each person. The playground will remain closed until further
information is obtained. The pavilion will be open, but people will need to obey the number of
10 or less people with six feet social distancing being followed.
The Governor announced that he will be lifting the restriction of two people per boat. If the boat
is the appropriate size you can have up to 10 people in the boat.
Mayor McDowell said that it is his understanding that restaurants and bars will be allowed to
open outdoor seating and beer gardens with the new phase three plan. Social distancing will still
be required in the outdoor seating and beer garden areas.
MAYOR COMMUNICATION
Garbage pickup will not take place on Monday, May 25, 2020 due to the Memorial Day Holiday.
