RESOLUTION NO 2084
A RESOLUTION APPROoVING A LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN BURLIlJGTC)N
NORTHFdtN RAILROAD OOI~ANY AND THE CITY OF CAN'PON AND AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTIIJG THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER SAID AGREEMENT ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CAN~1wON.
WIHEREAS, the Community and Industrial Development Committee
has determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of
the City of Canton to enter into one certain lease agreement with
Burlington Northern Railroad Company; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar
determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TAE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council finds the foregoing recitals
to be fact.
2. That one certain lease agreement, Exhibit A to this
resolution, is hereby approved and the Mayor is hereby authorized
and directed to execute and deliver said lease agreement on behalf
of the City of Canton.
3. That city staff is hereby authorized and directed to take
such reasonable steps as may appear necessary to comply with the
terms and conditions of said lease agreement.
4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 17th day of
October , 1989 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, Bohler, Sarff, Steck, Zilly,
Kovachevich,
NAYS: None,
ABSENT: Alderman Meade.

Dear Mr. Edwards:
RE: Application for Lease of Depot property in Canton
Attached please Lind application for lease for your completion of items 1 through
13, by typewriter if possible, and return to me within the next 20 days for my
further handling. Also, please sign on the reverse side of the form in the two
designated signature areas. A sketch of the desired property is included.
This lease is contingent upon the City placing a fence along this property to
prohibit access to and across the tracks. Confirming our conversation rental will
be set at =250.00 per year payable two years in advance, effective October 15,
1989.
We are willing to negotiate the sale of the property after the abandonment has
taken place.
By copy of this letter, Mr. Vaden is advised to convey the Depot located on the
property to the city !or the agreed price of =1.00 by bill of sale. You will hear
directly from Mr. Vaden.
