A RE90LUT I ON I N SUPPORT OF A OCNPRFJ-ENS 1 VE, OOIaVTY-WIDE 9-1-1

V11-EREAS, the Fulton County Board on July 10, 1990, adopted
and passed a resolution placing the question of a 9-1-1 Emergency
Telephone System as a ballot proposition to be voted on at the
general election to be held November 6, 1990; and,
Vu-EREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined
that it is necessary and in the best interest of the City of
Canton that such a 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System be implemented
in furtherance of the public health, welfare and safety; and,
WI-EREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar
determination.
NrJIAf, l1fREFORE, BE I T RESOLVED BY TF-E C 1 TY QOl1IVC I L OF Tt-E
CITY OF CANT~1, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing
recitals to be fact.
2. That the Canton City Council supports a comprehensive,
county-wide, 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System in support of the
public health, welfare and safety.
3. That the Canton City Council encourages the public to
pass a referendum on November 6, 1990 implementing such a 9-1-1
Emergency Telephone System.
4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this _l~ day of
July 1990, upon roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich, Fuller, Sarff, Meade, May, Chapman,
NAYS: None.
