RESOLDTION N0. 3092
A RESOLDTION CONFIRIrIING TSB APPOINTl~1ENT
OF JAMBS J. EL.SON AS CITY ATTORNEY
WHEREAS, James J. Elson has been appointed City Attorney by
the Mayor pursuant to one certain letter of appointment, copy
attached; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that such
appointment should be confirmed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CANTON CITY COIINCIL AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing
recitals to be fact.
2. That the appointment of James J. Elson to the office of
City Attorney is hereby confirmed subject to the terms and
conditions of the appointment letter, City Ordinance and State
Statute.
3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 17th. day of December,
1991, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldexmen. May, Barnett, Ptieade, Bohler, Steck, Sar~f, Coay,
Molleck.
NAYS: None.

Sub: Appointment of City Attorney
Date: December 17, 1991
Pursuant to authority of law I hereby appoint James J.
Elson, City Attorney for the City of Canton, Illinois.
The appointee shall receive an annual salary of
$ .
Duties: The appointee shall perform all legal tasks
normally and customarily performed by the City Attorney in
conformity with Title 1 of the Canton Municipal Code, as the same
may from time to time exist.
Additional Duties: The appointee, for additional
compensation, shall perform such other and further legal duties as
the same may from time to time be specifically authorized and
approved by the Canton City Council or Council Committee. Such
authorization and approval shall state the work to be performed,
the manner of computing compensation, submission of bills, payment
and other relevant matters. The appointee shall accept such
additional duties by an engagement letter to the mayor and city
council which specifies the detail of the foregoing matters and
all matters ancillary thereto.
