ORDINANCE NO. 1154
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR TWO HOUR PARKING ON THE NORTH
SIDE OF EAST ELM STREET BETWEEN NORTH SECOND AVENUE AND NORTH
THIRD AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the Streets and Garbage Committee has determined
that it is necessary and in the best interest of the City
of Canton to officially establish two hour parking on the

north side of East Elm Street from the West right-of-way
line of North Third Avenue to the East right-of-way line
of North Second Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted
for a two hour limit on the north side of East Elm Street
from the West right-of-way line of North Third Avenue to
the East right-of-way line of North Second Avenue in the
City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois.
2. That parking on the north side of East Elm Street
from the West right-of-line of North Third Avenue to the
East right-of-way line of North Second Avenue shall be parallel
parking only.
3. That the Street Superintendent shall post appropriate
signs and appropriate markings informing the public of this
provision.
4. That all prior ordinances and resolutions are, to
the extent inconsistent with this ordinance, hereby repealed.
5. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon
conviction, be subject to a fine of not less than Five Dollars
($5.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for
each such violation.
6. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City

of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor
thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by
law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, .Illinois at a regular meeting this 21st day of
July 1987, upon a roll call vote as
follows:
AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich, Zilly, S~rff, Meade, Bohler.
NAYS: Aldermen May, Chapman.
