REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2061-2081 NORTH MAIN STREET,
CANTON, ILLINOIS. (WAL-MART PROJECT)
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is
located within the corporate limits of the City of Canton, said
premises being generally located at 2061-2081 North Main Street in
the City of Canton, Fulton County, State of Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, it further appearing to said City Council that a
Petition for Rezoning was duly filed and due and proper notice
thereof was published in the Canton Daily Ledger, a secular
newspaper having a general circulation in the City of Canton,
County of Fulton and State of Illinois, said notice being made and
published according to the statutes of the State of Illinois and
the ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning &
Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, on the 12th day
of November, 1990, concerning the request of Canton North
Development Company to rezone the hereinafter described real
estate from an AG-1 (Agricultural) zoning configuration, to a B-2
(General Business District) zoning configuration; and,
WHEREAS, it further appearing to said City Council that the
Planning & Zoning Commission has reviewed the request of Canton
North Development Company, according to law and that the Planning
& Zoning Commission has filed its written recommendation with the
said City Council recommending that the property hereinafter
described be rezoned to a B-2 zoning configuration;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, Illinois;
Section 1. That the territory hereinafter described be, and
the same is hereby rezoned from AG-1 zoning configuration to a B-2
zoning configuration, said premises being more particularly
described as follows, to-wit:
Part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 15, Township 7
North, Range 4 East of the 4th P.M., in the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois, to wit:
Commencing at the Southwest corner of said Northeast
Quarter; thence along the south line of said Northeast
Quarter N88 -47'-01"E 595.01 ft. to a point on the east
right-of-way line of Illinois Route 78; thence along said
east right-of-way line N43 -52'-13"W 36.21 ft. to a point,
thence along a curve deflecting to the right having a radius
of 5,669.58 ft., an arc length of 485.14 ft. to a point,
thence N08 -22'-32"E 118.71 ft. to a found iron pin; thence
leaving said right-of-way line N88 -47'-01"E 662.49 ft. to a
found iron pin at the point of beginning; thence North

707.60 ft. to a found iron pin; thence N88 -46'-16"E 300.00
ft. to a point; thence South 707.66 ft. to a point; thence S
88 -47'-01"W 300.00 ft. to a point of beginning, containing
4.87 acres, more or less, subject to any and all easements,
restrictions, conditions, and matters of record.
Section 2. That the City of Canton zoning maps, documents
and related regulations be, and .the same hereby amended so that
the territory hereinabove described shall be, and the same is
hereby made a B-2 zoning configuration according to the statutes
of the State of Illinois and the ordinances of the City of Canton,
Illinois.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in effect from and
after a majority vote of the City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof.

Canton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof this ~.th
