ORDINANCE N0. X305
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN ANNIIAL SALARY FOR THE ALDERMEN OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the Finance & Personnel Committee of the City of
Canton, Illinois has determined that it is necessary, desirable
and to the best interest of the City of Canton to set specific
salaries for the various elected municipal officers including the
Mayor, Aldermen, City Clerk and City Treasurer; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois
has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COIINCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Beginning May 7, 1991, the Aldermen of the City of
Canton, Illinois shall receive an annual salary of $2100.00 per
year.
2. Beginning May 7, 19g1, the Aldermen of the City of
Canton, Illinois shall receive an additional sum of $100.00 for
each special council meeting that said Alderman is in attendance.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois
and approval by the Mayor thereof this l~rh day of ~~ar~h, 1991,
upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Bohler, r~eade, Sarff, Kovachevich, Mayor Edwards.
NAYS: Aldermen Chapman, May, Steck.
ABSENT: None. 1 ha.s resigned.
