RESOLUTION NO. 3 ~:~6
A RESOLUTION COIrIIrIITTING LEVERAGING FUNDS BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS FOR AN ILLINOIS DEPARTMEN'P OF
TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEI~'si'P GRANT FOR THE RESTORATION OF THE DBPOT,
LOCATED IN THE CITY OF CARTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Transportation, under an
Enhancement Program, has awarded the City of Canton a grant for
the restoration of the former CB&Q depot; and,
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Transportation requires
the passage of a resolution by the Canton City Council providing
for a firm commitment of local funds in the amount of $49,674.00
for this project in order to receive this Enhancement Program
grant; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton, Illinois is desirous of
receiving the Enhancement Program grant funds.
HOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTOR, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the city commit $49,674.00 of local funds for this
project.
2. That the Mayor and City of Canton comply with all
conditions necessary to receive the Illinois Department of
Transportation Enhancement Program grant.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk on behalf of the City of
Canton execute and deliver such documents necessary to receive
said grant.
4. That the Mayor and City CLerk are authorized to provide
such additional information as may be required to accomplish the
obtaining of such grant.
5. That the City of Canton, Illinois hereby commits itself
to the amount of $/9,674.00 in leveraging funds. Such funds shall
be from the Tax Increment Funds. Such commitment is hereby
conditional upon the city's receipt of the Enhancement Program
grant funds.
6. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 5th day of April, 1994,
upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, Meade, Sarff, Phillips, Molleck, Coat'.
HAYS: None.
