BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
WHEREAS, the premises hereinafter described, which were here-
tofore acquired as a part of the land required in connection with
the waterworks reservoir, are not used by the City of Canton;
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized
and directed to lease to Robert McLaughlin, for the term of two
(2) years, commencing on the first day of March, 1946, the follow-
ing described premises, to-wit:
A part of the Northeast Quarter (NES) of Section
Thirty ( 30) , in Township Seven (7) North, Range Five
(5) East of the Fourth Principal Meridian, Fulton
County, Illinois, more particularly described as
follows:
Commencing at the northeast corner of said
Section Thirty ( 30) ; running thence south 569.5
feet; thence west 28. 5 feet to a wooden fence
post "A" on the west side of the township road,
this post "A" being the place of beginning;
The north end of this tract is bounded by
a fence extending from Post A and running south,
630 west, four hundred ninety-eight (498) feet,
to a fence post B, from which a fence runs in a
southerly direction near top of ravine in which
Lake Canton Dam, and Spillway, is located.
The south end of east side of this parcel
is located two thousand seventy (2070) feet south
of post A. The east west width of this tract,
from west side of Township Road, mentioned above ,
varies from three hundred seventy ( 370) feet to
four hundred forty (440) feet. The tillable
portion plus pasture land of this parcel contains
fourteen and six tenths (14.6) plus acres.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the consideration for the rental
of said premises shall be the sum of One hundred seventy dollars
($170.00) per year payable as follows: $14.16 payable monthly
on the first day of each month for eleven months and $14.24 pay-
able on the first day of the twelfth month of each year of this
lease.
