RESOLUTION TO PURCHASE PROPERTY FOR A
PUBLIC COMFORT STATION.
WHEREAS, it is desirable and necesaary
for the City of Canton, Illinois, to purchase property to be
used for a Public Comfort Station, for the convenience of the
residents of said City.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the City of Canton, Illinois,
. shall purchase from Elmer G. Carver and W. A. Sampson, for the
purpose of a Public Comfort Station, the following described
property:
A part of Lot 4umbered Forty—four (44) in
Jones' Second Xddition to the Town, now
City of Canton; Fulton County, Illinois,
described as follows: Corpmencing at the
northwest corner of the two story brick
building on said Lot fronting South Main
Street and adjoining the private alley on
the south, ranning thence east eighty—two
and one—half (82i) feet, thence south
eighteen (18) feet, thence west eighty.-
two and one—half (82k) feet to Main
Street, thence north eighteen (181 feet
to the place of beginning, situated in
the City of Canton, County of Fulton,
State of Illinois.
Section 2. That the consideration shall be the
sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00) to be paid the said
Elmer G. Carver and W. A. Sampson, upon delivery by them of a
Warranty Deed to the above described property.
Passed by the City Council and approved by
the Mayor this 6th day of August A. D. 1946.

RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF ".1946 :SEWER EXTENSION PROJECT"
WHEREAS, on the second (2nd) day of July
A. D. 1946, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
approved specifications for "1946 Sewer Extension project",
and authorized advertisement inviting competetive bids for
said Project; and
WHEREAS, the said advertisement was published
two (2) times in the Canton Daily Ledger, the first publication
being on the seventeenth (17th) day of July A. D. 1946, and the
second publication being on the twenty-second (22nd) day of July
A. D. 1946; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with the said advertise
ment, on the thirty-first (31st) day of July A. D. 1946, at a
Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Canton, 4l1inois,
called for the purpose of receiving and opening said sealed bids
for the construction of said project, said sealed bids were opened
by the Mayor of the said City in the presence of the City Council,
at the time and plate and in the manner provided in said advertise-
ment, and as prescribed by law, the total amount of said bids being
as follows:

AND WHEREAS, this meeting of the City Council
was adjourned until the sixth (6th) day of August A. D. 1946,
for the purpose of givinga11 persons interested an opportunity
to be heard concerning said bide and the award of the contract
for the construction of said &roject, and the bids having remained
on file in the Mayors Office open to public inspection; and,
WHEREAS, the said bids have been duly considered
