HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 11-09-1948 RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY JOSEPH R. HERRING CAMP NUMBER 10, DEPARTMENT OF ILLINOIS, SONS OF UNION VETERANS OF CIVIL WAR, CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS. . Section 1. That Joseph R. Herring Camp Number 10, Department of Illinois, Sons of Union Veterans of Civil, War, City of Canton, Illinois, enter into an agreement with the City of Canton., Illinois, a Municipal Corporation, a copy of which is attached to this Resolution and made a part hereof the same as if it were written herein. SECTION 2. That the Commander and Secretary of said Joseph R. Herring Camp Number 10, Department of Illinois., Sons of Union Veterans of Civil War, City of Canton, Illinois, are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement on behalf of the said Joseph R. Herring Camp Number 10, Department of Illinois, Sons of Union Veterans of Civil War, City of Canton, Illinois. Passed by Joseph R. Herring Camp Number 10, Department of Illinois, Sons of Union Veterans of Civil War, City of Canton, Illinois at a regular meeting held at the G. A. R. Hall ( a quorum being present) ; on this 7'— day of November A. D. 1948, and approved by the Commander . the same day and year above written. D. 1948, by and between JOSEPH R. HERRING CAMP No. 10, DEPARTMENT OF ILLINOIS, SONS OF Villa Villain Or CIVIL WAR, hereinafter *ailed the party of the first part, and CI?! OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, hereinafter called the party of the second part, inmnom.s114 1. That the party of the first part covenants and agrees to permit the party of the second part to use a certain portion of the City'Building known and designated as the Grand ATM' of the Republic Hall for municipal purposes, namely, the party of the second part shall be permitted to use the west room of said hall as a police room, provided that an adequate hallway into the mai* hall is maintained and the party of the preend part shall be permifpwl to 'reel a roes onto the northwest corner of said main hall provided that said room is no larger than ten (10) feet by. fourteen (14) fest, 2. The party of the second part covenants evil egress to maintain and care for all of the said Grand Army of the Republic Hall and to permit the use of said Hall, except that user for municipal purposes as above set forth, as a meeting place for the patriotic orders of the City of Canton, Illinois, when the same may be meeting for patriotic purposes. 3. The party of the second rart further covenants and agrees to adequately and safely house and preserve all records, tablets, trophies, relies, pictures, flags and memorials that are now in said R.11 and any which ueY hereafter be donated, by patriotic cities** aed if seek eau be done to have all such articles open * public view. w • 4.
