ORDINANCE NO. ~ ~~~
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1625 PERTAINING TO
IMPOSING AND COLLECTING TAXES FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF USING
ELECTRICITY BASED UPON KILOWATT-HOUR USAGE
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1625 was. adopted by the City of Canton on May 4,
1999; and,
WHEREAS, for technical reasons it appears necessary to amend certain. portions
of said ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
SEC. 1: Ordinance No. 1625 is hereby amended as follows:
i) The rate for the first 2,000 kilowatt-hours use for consumed in a month is
changed. from 0.00417 to 0.00418 dollars per kilowatt-hour;
ii) The rate for the next 48,000 kilowatt-hours per month remains unchanged;
(0.00274 dollars/kwh)
iii) The rate for the next SO,000 kilowatt hours used. or consumed per month is
changed from 0.00246 to 0.00247 dollars per kilowatt hour
iv)d) The rate for the next 400,000 kilowatt-hours used or consumed in a month
is changed from 0.00239 to 0.00240 dollars per kilowatt hour.
v) The rate for the next 500,000 kilowatt-hours used or consumed in a month
remains unchanged (0.00233 dollars/kwh)
vi) .The rate for the next 2,000,000 kilowatt-hours used or consumed in a month
remains unchanged.
vii) The rate for the next 2,000,000 kilowatt-hours used or consumed per month
remains unchanged.
viii) The rate for the next 5,000,000 kilowatt-hours used or consumed per month
remains unchanged.
ix) The rate for the next 10,000,000 kilowatt-hours used or consumed per month
remains unchanged.
x) The rate for the usage or consumption over 20,000,000 kilowatt-hours is
changed from 0.00205 to 0.00206 dollars per kilowatt hour.
SEC. 2: Ordinance No. 1625 is further amended by inserting the wordy "As
permitted by law" before the last sentence in Section 9 of the original ordinance.
SEC. 3: This amending ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its
passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form.

County, lllinois this 20th day of July, 1999, pursuant to a roll call vote as follows:
