ORDINANCE NO. .1630
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF THE INTEREST
OF THE CITY IN A FARMER COMMON WALL LOCATED ON LOT 44,
JONES' SECOND ADDITION TO CANTON
WHEREAS, the City of Canton is the owner of an undivided one half interest in a
common wall located on Lot 44 in Jones' Second Addition to Canton being an East West
wall being about 26 feet South more or less from the Northwest corner of said Lot 44;
and,
WHEREAS, the City has no need whatsoever to retain an ownership interest in
the wall; and,
WHEREAS, the property interest in the wall has no market value; and,
WHEREAS, Richard Sharpshair has purchased the real estate immediately South
of said wall including the other undivided one-half interest in the wall and has requested
the City to transfer and quit-claim its interest in the wall to him; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City is familiar with this matter as this is the
North wall of the former Risser Sewing Center building .and the City is the owner of the
alleyway between South Main Street and the White Court parking area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the City Council hereby finds the foregoing recitals to be fact.
2. That the City of Canton, having no use for the undivided interest in the
common wall located about 26 feet South of the Northwest corner of Lot 44, Jones'
Second Addition and running East-West and to avoid expense on this interest which has
no market value will convey the interest which it has to the owner of the other undivided
one-half, Richard Sharpshair.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized to execute all
documents necessary to effect the conveyance.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton and approved by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a
regular meeting this 2 0th day of J u 1 y , 1999.
AYES: Aldermen May, Shores, Meade, Nidiffer, Phillips, Sarff,
Molleck, Hartford.
NAYS: None.

QUIT-CLAIM DEED
THE GRANTOR, CITY OF CANTON, an Illinois municipal corporation, of the City of
Canton in the County of Fulton and State of Illinois, for an in consideration of One Dollar
and other good and valuable considerations CONVEYS and QUIT CLAIMS to
RICHARD SHARPSHAIR of 20 Aspen Drive, Canton, Illinois the following described
real estate:
All right, title and interest in a former division wall on the North side of the former
Risser property. The approximate location of said wall, which is generally in an East-West
direction is that it begins 26 feet more or less South of the Northwest corner of Lot
Number 44 in Jones' Second Addition to Canton and extends East 77 feet more or less,
situated in the City of Canton, County of Fulton in the State of Illinois.
