AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER OF SALE OF CERTAIN
REAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY,
ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has become the owner of record of certain parcels
of real property hereinafter described; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that the real property
hereinafter described is no longer necessary, appropriate, required for the use of,
profitable to, or for the best interest of the City of Canton.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the real property presently owned by the City of Canton, being located
and legally described as follows, to-wit:
The East Half of Lot 69, except the North 40 feet; and the East Half of Lot
70 both in the Nathan Jones Second Addition to the City of Canton, situated in the
County of Fulton and State of Illinois.
be let for the sale of such property under the direction of the Department of Community
Development, City of Canton, by and with the advice of the City Attorney, and in the
conformity with the laws of the State of Illinois and the Ordinances of the City of Canton
thereto appertaining.
2. That public notice of the foregoing proposed sale shall be as by law made and
provided, and that a submission of plan for use of property be received along with the bid.
3. That the use of each of the foregoing parcels of real estate is determined by
reference to the City of Canton's zoning ordinance and map, as the same maybe from time
to time amended.
4. Conveyance of title to any successful bidder shall be by aquit-claim deed.
5. The City of Canton shall show merchantable title to any successful bidder by a
commitment to insure title in the amount of the purchase price, followed by a title
insurance policy after closing of the transaction.
6. The City of Canton reserves the right to reject any and all bids with respect to
the foregoing parcel of real property.
7. Bids shall be submitted to the City Clerk, City Building, 210 East Chestnut
Street, Canton, Illinois, 61520, on or before 5:00 o'clock p.m. local time, on February 9,
1999. Late bids will not be considered. All bids submitted shall be opened before the
Canton City Council Clerical Committee at its regular meeting of February 9, 1999.
8. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approved
by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a
regular meeting this5th day of .Tanuary , 1949

INVITATION FOR BIDS
Public Notice is hereby given as follows: The City of Canton is the owner of the following
real property and legally described as:
The East Half of Lot 69, except the North 40 feet; and the East Half of Lot 70
both in the Nathan Jones Second Addition to the City of Canton, situated in the
County of Fulton and State of Illinois.
The City of Canton invites written bids and proposals for the development of said property
zoned B-~. Written proposals must be delivered to the Canton City Clerk at 210 East
Chestnut Street, Canton, Illinois, no later than 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 1999. Bids
will be opened at the regular Clerical Committee meeting February 9, 1999.
