PUBLIC SAFETY AND TRAFFIC
ALDERWOMAN ANGELA HALE, CHAIRMAN
DISCUSS, CONSIDER AND VOTE ON THE PURCHASE AND INSTALL OF A VHF SAFETY RADIO
REPEATER SYSTEM AT CANTON LAKE
The police and fire communication is currently outdated at Canton Lake. The new repeater will
provide adequate communication at the lake area for the police and fire department. There is
an existing tower on a hill above the water plant that will be used for the new repeater. This
repeater will also serve as a backup repeater if there are any problems with the system in town.
The City will use it immediately for lake patrol. If there are any annexations and development it
would also be used for that area.
The bid was $6,800.00. The City will add some programming on the fire radio so they can also
access it.
Motion and second were made by Aldermen Hale/Nelson to approve the VHF safety repeater
system at Canton Lake.
