AND ANNAMAE SPENNY TO THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, IN AN R-2 ZONING CLASSIFICATION. WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is not located in any municipality, but that the same is located outside the corporate limits of said City of Canton; and, IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that the territory hereinafter described is contiguous to the City of Canton along its boundary line thereof; and IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a Petition for Annexation and Rezoning has been filed by the Petitioners, William L. and Annamae Spenny, requesting that the property hereinafter described be annexed to the City of Canton in an R-2 zoning class- ification; and IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a public hearing was conducted by the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, in accordance with the laws of this State and the ordinances of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, on April 14, 1997, and said Planning & Zoning Commission recommended that the property hereinafter described be annexed to the City of Canton in an R-2 zoning classification; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the territory described as follows: part of the S.E. 1/4 of Section 21, T. 7N., R. 4E., of the 4th Principal Meridian, described as: Commencing at the S.W. corner of said 1/4 section, thence running 31 rods to the Fair- view Road, thence in a Southeasterly direction, along said Road to the South line of said section, thence West 28 rods to the place of beginning: containing about 2.47 acres, subject to existing • easements, if any, and usages and rights of way for road purposes. be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Canton, County of Fulton, State of Illinois, in accordance with the applicable rules, laws, and regulations of the Illinois Municipal Code. Section 2. That the above-described property shall be and the same is hereby designated with an R-2 zoning classification, single family residential. Section 3. That the City Zoning Administrator is hereby instructed and ordered to make the necessary adjustments to the zoning map of the City of Canton, Illinois, to reflect the annexation and zoning hereunder. Section 4. That this ordinance ~.aas passed and became in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the majority vote of the aldermen holding office in the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, this 15th day of ~nril 1997, upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES; Aldermen Molleck, Hartford, Sarff, Phillips, Nidiffer, Meade, Shores, May.
