ORDINANCE NO. 1542
ORDINANCE REZONING PROPERTY OF WILLIAM MAURICE AT THE
NORTHEAST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 25,
IN TOWNSHIP 7 NORTH, RANGE 4 EAST OF THE FOURTH PRINCIPAL
MERIDIAN, SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CANTON, COUNTY OF FULTON
AND STATE OF ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the City Clerk for the rezoning of the real
property described below, and said real property is within the corporate limit of the City
of Canton, Illinois;
WHEREAS, the current zoning of the subject premises is R-2 and it is the
intention of the owner that it be changed to a zoning of B-2; and;
WHEREAS, a public hearing on said petition was conducted by the Planning and
Zoning Commission of the City of Canton on April 14, 1997 pursuant to proper notice
having been published in the Canton Daily Ledger;
WHEREAS, on April 14, 1997 the Planning and Zoning Commission
recommended to the City Council that the real property described in the attached exhibit
hereto be rezoned in the City of Canton pursuant to Division 13, Article 11, Act 5,
Chapter 65, Illinois Compiled Statutes, 1992 (65 IL.CS 5/11-13-1 et set; and;
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Canton, Illinois that said real
property be rezoned in the City of Canton.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby find as facts the assertions set forth above.
2. That the described real property be and is hereby rezoned as follows:
A part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 25, in Township 7
North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal Meridian, situated in the City of Canton,
County of Fulton and state of Illinois, described as follows:
Beginning 1368.4 feet South of a stake set at the Northwest corner of the Northeast
Quarter of said Southwest Quarter, running thence East 110 feet, thence North 396 feet,
thence West 110 feet, thence South 396 feet to the place of beginning, containing one
acre of land, more or less, from R-2 to B-2.
3. That the Zoning Administrator is directed to make the appropriate changes to
the zoning maps of the City of Canton to show this rezoning.
4. That the City Clerk is directed to record with the Recorder of Deeds of Fulton County
and to file with the County Clerk of Fulton County a certified copy of this ordinance.
5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage by the City
Council of the City of Canton and approval by its Mayor.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a
regular meeting on this 15 aay of April 1997, upon a roll call vote
as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Molleck, Hartford, Sarff, Phillips,
Nidiffer, Meade, Shores, May,
NAYS: None .
