October 10, 2016
The Meeting of October 10, 2016 was called to order by Ed Patton at 5:30 p.m.
Roll call was taken: 11 members with 7 members attending - Quorum
present.
Members Present - Kathy Lock, Ed Patton, Maria Orwig, Gerald Ellis, Phil Fleming,
Roy Hopper, and Kay Long.
Members not present-Alan Dilts, Dave Pickel, Eric Arnold, & Craig West.
Others Present- Petitioner, William Leitze, Planning & Zoning Director, John
Kunski and new Planning and Zoning Director, Steve Widmer.
Chairman Ed Patton called the meeting to order. Ed asked for A Motion to
approve the minutes from the meeting of July 25, 2016. Motion made by Kathy
Locks and seconded by Phil Fleming. Motion carried with a unanimous voice
vote.
Outgoing Planning & Zoning Director, John Kunski introduced Steve Widmer, who
will be taking his place once he retires on November 1691.
Chairman Ed Patton read the petition, Case 16-010, a public hearing for
property located at 310 N. Ave B. Petitioner, William Leitze is asking for an 11 ft.
variance in the rear yard to build an attached garage. The property is currently
zoned R-2.
Mr. Leitze spoke on his behalf explaining that he is going to have the current
garage demolished and is replacing with the attached garage. There isn't a lot
of yard and he needs to variance to be able to build the garage he wants. His
neighbors have signed off on the petition. His contractor is Roy Slater.
John Kunski stated that staff did not have any issues with the request.
Marla Orwig made A Motion to accept the Finding of Facts as yes to all with a
second by Gerald Ellis. Gerald Ellis then made A Motion to approve the 11 ft.
variance with a second from Maria Orwig. Motion carried with unanimous voice
vote.
Motion to adjourn was made by Kathy Lock with a second from Roy Hopper.
Motion carried with a unanimous voice vote.
The meeting adjourned at 5:37pm
